“Can you please consider Palestinians as human beings?”
Congress:
I do think there is some air between “consider Palestinians as human beings” and “eliminate Israel,” as it certainly seems the “from the river to the sea” chant implies.
Tlaib has a difficult line to walk here, and I don’t envy her, but I think that chant was a misstep and probably hurt her cause more than helped it, politically speaking.
No no no no no that’s not okay, you have to choose one of two camps of unilateral opinions or you’re a radical centrist who’s bothsiding a genocide and probably a racist.
Something something cancel culture.
Who were the 22 dems that sided with the republicans to censure her ?
Interestingly, the first vote failed, there were a bunch of speeches, then the second vote passed. It would be interesting to see who changed their vote, and what was said in the speeches to change their minds. (I didn’t read the whole thing because I don’t think this censure has much consequence.)
God forbid the US supports the destruction of a sovereign state…
Seems to me she would have had a better defense claiming American ignorance of geography.
“Which river are we talking about? And don’t all rivers flow to the sea? Why do you not want the Palestinians to have access to their rivers, is that like the part where Israel isn’t letting them have water for their children?..”
“And always twirling twirling towards freedom!”
