Facebook mums around the world have been devastated by the news that the next season of television show ‘Young Sheldon’ will be the last.
However, fans across the world are waiting in anticipation for the final episode, after the creators revealed their plan for the finale in which Sheldon commits a mass school shooting.
The creators of the show explained that they wanted to end the series with an emotional story that the average American can relate to.
“We want to end the show with a bang,” said the showrunner, “and we thought what better way to do that than with a traditional American school shooting.”
“It’s a storyline we’ve been setting up from the start, we have always made sure the character gives you that vibe. The same classic Sheldon we all know and love.”
The writers said they are excited to see the episode, including a little easter egg where Sheldon looks to the camera and says ‘Bazinga’ after brutally murdering all his classmates.
Some online were critical of the proposed finale saying that the ‘school shooting episode’ trope has been done to death at this point by American high school shows. However fans were quick to defend it saying that you can’t jump the shark in a show that’s very existence is jumping the shark.

They really missed an opportunity to make an in joke.
“We want to end the show with a Big Bang,” said the showrunner,
“The theory is that they wanted the end the show in a Big Bang, but that’s just the Big Bang Theory”
I read that in the Game Theory guy’s voice.
Touching Young Sheldon is a good name for a spin off series
That’s the catholic spin-off
Prequel.

This is why he shoots up the school.
“traditional American school shooting”, it’s like apple pie and baseball.
“No Way To Prevent This,” Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens
One of their best.
This is big bang theory if it was good
It was good in the first season or at least until Penny became smarter than the boys and everyone got married.
No, it wasn’t good, even before everyone and everything got Flanderised. It was always a shitty sitcom that only got a laugh because they played audio of people laughing.
So many people find it just hilariously funny that it’s kind of freaky. It looks like the dumbest show but for years I’ve heard people just gush about how good it is.
bbt was made for the masses. not for the skewed subset of the population that frequents reddit or lemmy or (insert social site name here). and the masses liked the show enough for it and its prequel spin-off to go a combined 19 seasons.
I hate this. I have a physics degree and have been of Reddit/Lemmy for ages and I loved the first seasons of the BBT. Such blatant generalisation.
Combining two different shows to make a big number of total seasons is disingenuous. Big Bang Theory was never as big as Friends.
ok. friends and its spinoff (you remember it, don’t you?) went twelve seasons, total.
Holy shit I had completely forgotten about Joey. Like, I had to Google friends spin-off to remember. It was terrible wasn’t it? I think I only lasted a couple episodes.
Meanwhile Doctor Who be looking like “pah, rookie numbers.”
The main point I was making is that Big Bang as a franchise hasn’t been as universally enjoyed as Friends was. Big Bang was more Marmite. Young Sheldon was maybe more palatable for a wider range, however people never really picked it up.
I’ve had people say I would like that show, that made me angry. I hadn’t even articulated in my head why I didn’t like it at that point, but I knew it was terrible anyway.
I also had people tell me I’d like Pearl Jam, because I like Soundgarden. No, Pearl Jam don’t do it for me. Soundgarden do, in spite of being published by Sony and relying on dubbing in their singles which couldn’t be performed live.
Young Sheldon is actually kind of alright. The writers have clearly heard the criticisms against Big Bang. It’s not a stellar show, but it deserves its standing while Big Bang is just all wrong.
Thank you for disliking Pearl Jam, there are some of us out there!
It’s the voice, it’s very polarising imo.
Pearl Jam came on the radio a couple months back. My daughter looked at me, with shock and disgust in her eyes. We had been listening to Soundgarden, and Spotify started playing songs its algorithm decided was similar. After a moment, she said “What is wrong with Spotify? This is horrible. What happened to Chris Cornell?”
I have never been so proud.

I don’t like how that Muse guy sounds like he’s trying to sing like Bono. I guess if you like U2 that could be good but I don’t.
I watched about ten minutes of an episode once. Didn’t see the appeal and thought maybe something was wrong with my sense of humour.
I watched a clip once where the main dude said he was going to go play a game on his N64 emulator. Then the studio audience LAUGHED at that very basic statement. The fuck?
Like what?? Lol. I can’t even comprehend that, and I’m trying very hard.
Bazinga
No, it wasn’t good.
In your opinion. Some people may enjoy it and that’s fine. I’m sure there are people that don’t like playing Factorio, but to me it’s awesome. Just like I don’t like FIFA but many do.
It’s depressing that this needs to be said. Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy.
I’m sure there are people that don’t like playing Factorio, but to me it’s awesome. Just like I don’t like FIFA but many do.
Factario is indeed awesome (though I prefer Satisfactory and its lizard doggos) but I think the problem with FIFA is it’s not Football Manager.
It’s bully comedy.
I enjoyed it not gonna lie.
Probably thank to the fact that I’m Deaf and can’t hear the laugh track.
But I remember when it was on the cable tv, they actually showed it in the closed captioned suddenly out of nowhere. And it was so annoying to read (audience laughter) every other sentence. I stopped watching after seeing that episode.
Picked it up again recently (on one of streaming service) only cuz I just wanted to have some show I can just pick up and watch. I like binging shows.
It was decent for the most parts, but one part I didn’t enjoy was when they got baby.
You know it was taped in front of a live audience, right? That’s their laugh. But I know, they were always instructed to laugh. And I think all my laughs were also all replayed audio after all. Yeah, you got me.
Pretty sure it was already a thing in the show was that he was already an outcast in his small Texas town because he tried to analyze politics and immediatly came to the conclusion communism made the most sense.
The writers didn’t realize how much of a self own it was to have their canonical genius immediatly realize this and was instead just “Oh its why he’s so quirky”
Wait, so canonically Sheldon is a communist?
To be clear I’ve never watched a minute of the show and heard that on the old subreddit when it happened so to be honest I have no idea.
The episode probably ended with him learning that American capitalism was better because a Texan helped change their tire or something.
Yea, probably some drek about how he forgot to include human nature in his calculations. No comrade Sheldon for us I guess
New Soviet Man Funko Pop
Well I ate that onion.
Lol i made it all the way down to Bazinga before I realized this probably isn’t factual
What makes you think this isn’t factual
I was going to say the website itself, but since satire has an annoying habit of being prophetic, you make good a point.

I mean, it has been done to death. Literally
woosh

Almost as annoying as not reading the community name before you click an article, let alone before you comment.

Apparently you care. And you act like a fool while using childish emojis in an attempt to call me a fool.
It is an internet forum, yes. Which is why you shouldn’t be so butthurt at being called out for being unaware of which forum you’re chatting in.
Personally I’m against my dick ever going in ass. Bleh!
Ah, so you’re a bottom
Not just a bottom, a power bottom
Nothing personal kid, Bazinga!
Holy shit lol, I can see the onion getting sued for this
It’s not the onion, it’s The Chaser who are based in Australia. And I guarantee they don’t give a shit.
Yeah. They’d definitely have some fancy lawyers. Probably gets sued every few months
I also think most of the core Chasers crew have some kind of legal background, either studying or practicing, so have a decent grasp of what they can and can’t get away with.
Touching Young Sheldon is my favorite show
Writers for The OA unavailable for comment.
Guns don’t kill people, Sheldon does
a show that’s very existence is jumping the shark.
I love the progression here.
- idiots don’t know ‘who’ from ‘that’ in objects
- idiots now need to use ‘whose’, but early stupidity precludes that
- idiots use ‘that is’ contracted in the hopes of using it like a possessive, even though there’s no such thing; and finally
- when faced with this shit construction at press time, idiot hits the ‘yolo’ button.
What idiots.
Bro are you having a stroke?
They are complaining about misdemeanors against grammar while commiting felonies against grammar.
It looks completely correct aside from not pluralizing the penultimate “idiots.”
You can technically diagram their sentences, but their preposition choices are WILD.
And if you want to get technical, referring to a show as “that” and not “who” is still technically correct, because a show is a nonliving thing and not a living being.
It’s customary to refer to a show as if it was a living being, so it may feel more natural to use “who”.
Are you trying to say they don’t know their arse from their elbow, for using the same phrasing as that idiom?
Hashing up idioms is not a flex for smooth and coherent writing, and I was examining the entire sentence, “x FROM y IN z”.
When writing for readability you want to be careful when chaining or nesting prepositional phrases. You might not technically be breaking any rules, but that’s why it sounds like a stoke.
Also embedding a semicolon into a bullet point just to announce your next bullet point is a high felony. Try to argue that any English teacher will not mark that up with red ink.
… the idiom is an example of why it’s fine. Both things being fine doesn’t mean one copied the other.
Language thrives outside of what you learn in school. That’s one of the things you should have learned in school. No curriculum with EE Cummings leaves that ambiguous. Quite often I’ll make a compound sentence go ‘and and and’ instead of just using commas. It’s a form of emphasis and flow. A bullet-point list verbally prefacing the last element is incredibly common practice.
Bro ate the entire onion.
That would be a blast
