July 8 (Reuters) - Jack Sweeney, the creator of an account tracking Elon Musk’s private jet in real time, has moved to Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter-rival Threads after being suspended from Twitter last year.>

“ElonJet has arrived to Threads!” read Sweeney’s first post on Thursday from the account handle @elonmusksjet, which had over 21,000 followers as of Saturday morning.>

ElonJet has tracked the movements of Musk’s private jet using data available in the public domain.>

In December Twitter Inc, owned by Musk, suspended the ElonJet account, with the billionaire threatening legal action against the account’s operator after saying his son had been mistakenly followed by a “crazy stalker”.>

Meta-owned Threads, posing a direct challenge to Twitter, garnered millions of users in hours, including prominent figures such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Democratic U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as it seeks to take advantage of its rival’s weakened state after a series of chaotic decisions from Musk.>

Sweeney, Twitter and Meta did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.> Reporting by Jyoti Narayan in Bengaluru; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama>

If there is anything that’s good about threads; it’s what it’s doing to Musk and Twitter.

Having said that it’s not a place I’m ever planning on venturing into.

Agreed, Threads doesn’t even need to be federated either really, it’s just an excuse, I like that they are sticking it to Musk, that nob head needs his comeuppance.

Haha, yeah I guess when I read it back it does sound like that m, what I meant was the Zuck wants threads federated to scrape data, get more information on people etc, which is just plain shitty, I’m a recent Fediverse joiner, and seeing it being targeted already to me does not being happy feelings :)

I’m in the same boat. I didn’t think I’d end up caring about Threads much, especially since it didn’t even launch where I live.

But seeing how much Musk hates it has been pretty funny.

Musk is pretty noble, he spent 42 billion of his own money to help accelerate twitters downfall and create a competitor.

He’s certainly done me a favour. I wasn’t really in to Twitter but hadn’t heard of Mastodon until the 3rd app dust up.

Turns out Mastodon is very much my speed. I’m glad he decided to blow up Twitter.

I find it strange how most people seem fine with this kind of thing. It’s probably safe to assume there are threats against Elon Musks life, and against that of his kids, not to mention the risk of abduction or worse. Tracking his plane makes it all the more easier.

So again… what’s wrong with you that you not only don’t see the harm, but even seem to celebrate this as some kind of twisted sweet revenge for actions that haven’t even harmed you in any way?

I believe the tracker guy posts with a delay too, so by the time anyone sees it on threads, Elon will have already gone.

All the data it uses is public information, you dont need the bot to know where he is. The point of the account is to make it easy to see all the short stupid flights Musk does with the plane.

I’m not find with harming someone, but everyone who owns a private jet can be tracked using the same public information… if one knows the appropriate identifying information for the plane. If I buy a private plane, you can track my flights too. Anyone who wants to stalk Musk likely already knows how to track him using the underlying data.

I would argue that easy access to that kind of information lowers the threshold to act as it might seem more of an opportunity.

Maybe! Anyone taking action on this to stalk or threaten is wrong, though, howevermuch a fuckstick little muskie is.

He’s free to not use his private jet. But no, woe is he who has all of the money in the world because he made choices that make him publicly visible.

His jet alone is doing harm to all of us. His personal impact on the global environment is orders of magnitudes higher than most of the rest of ours.

Him fabricating some stories so that he could publicly break a promise doesn’t change any of that.

Billionaires do more harm than one nut going after a billionaire. They’re not important. Especially Elon who obviously is deranged and thinks he founded Tesla.

So who’s the one who gets to decide who does more harm than good in this world and therefore gets their life risked more? Maybe the fact that you own at least a phone puts you on the bad and immoral 50% of all humanity?

And what exactly habe his kids done to mankind?
