I mean the very thin sliver of a silver lining is that this carbon capture technology works to a degree. In anything approaching a society that actually functioned, we’d see the same levels of funding, research and energy spent on this sort of thing that we spend nowdays on stuff like weapons development or extracting even more oil.

I’m sure there are a few men pretending on there but I have come across women before who genuinely hold these kinds of views. They’re super rare for sure but let’s face it so are incels and there’s enough of them to form various communities.

One thing I’ve noticed in both is they seem to have developed this really weird and toxic ideology that really does seem to have a lot of its roots in the increasing commodification of everything including relationships. I’m not saying it’s the biggest cause or even a cause at all but a lot of the weirder shit seems to almost be an attempt to use something like I dunno a marketing algorythm or something.

Back in the 90’s over here German shepards had a very bad reputation. My grandad had a couple and they were the most gentle, soppiest doggies you can imagine. I mean yeah they were big and strong but frankly the only way they were gonna hurt us as kids would be by pulling too hard on the lead and yoinking us off our feet.

I’ve always figured it’s basically the same deal with pit bulls, that it’s largely fucking nonsense and a dog’s temprament is gonna mostly be down to nuture so it’s good to see the sources here seem to back that up.

No one’s singling out Israel on the far left, that’s the thing. Plenty of other American allies get called out. India, for its treatment of Kashmiris, Saudi Arabia for being comic book villain levels of undistilled evil, Australia for its offshore concentration camps etc.

If I’d grown up as skint and fucked up as I was in the UK at 16 in the US instead with your lack of healthcare and in a really shit environment I would have taken the first genuine shot of escaping I could.
