  • I’m normally not one to raise conspiracy theories, but this probably isn’t one of them.

Historically, this is true with regards to human civilization. This isn’t the first time authoritarians use tactics like keeping the population afraid of some boogyman so they can push police state agendas.

Heck, other countries are doing the same thing right this minute.

It’s not unreasonable to assume that in a country as diverse and often confused and corrupt like we have in a lot of areas, would be susceptible to the same things.

Assuming we’re immune to that level of influence is going on the wrong direction. We’re not even immune to fringe extremist groups trying to overthrow our government. Even if they did it poorly, the attempt was made.

Ten years ago, nobody thought anything like that could ever happen here.

  • This is the absolute worst troll argument from someone completely uninformed or intentionally misrepresenting things.

Colorado’s ruling is following the Constitution. Amendment 14, section 3. It very, very, very clearly states that if you do what Trump very much did by attempting to overturn a legally sanctioned election.

    From the Constitution:

No person shall … hold any office, civil or military, under the United States … who, having previously taken an oath … as an officer of the United States … to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion.

It’s clear as day. Which is why the legal experts in Colorado had the balls to move forward and force Trump to adhere to the constitution that he swore an oath to uphold.

They’re the only state with the balls right now. Everyone else is worried about retaliation and escalation from fuckheads like you.
