all my Iranian friends are here just out of frame, laughing too

honestly this tracks, it’s also the playbook of every upper manager in the country: make huge promises targeting this quarter, ignore reality, and secretly hope to god everyone that actually knows anything can pull it off in spite of you. only fitting that these ghouls have gotten their hands on the launch codes.

oh for sure, I would consider the collateral damage implications but that’s not a type of thinking i’d ever accuse the MIC of having

yeah i certainly get why we wouldn’t use expensive interceptors, but watching this video it feels like someone with a sufficiently powerful machine gun could just paint the target until it’s down. your answer hits at what my assumption was, that these goons just didn’t care to think too deeply about the problem at all.

can someone more knowledgeable clue me in on why these things don’t get shot down? isn’t this why things like the c-ram exist? I guess what I’m really asking is, what flavor of incompetence it’s allowing these things to hit US bases?

I agree on all parts but I’ll add that I think this is also an opportunity to teach people that haven’t known these realities, that there is in fact no “normal” to return to. the only way out of this is through, and a lot of people are (or are going to be) looking for what things need to look like on the other side of it all. just like with ICE protests, there’s clear opportunity to engage with people and teach them community organizing and what a leftward future can look like
my streak of “finally got some savings built up only for the world to end” remains unbroken
