Damn, I’m really sorry to hear that. I hope it will improve for you with time. For what it’s worth I understand symbalta can be combined with pregabalin/gabapentin. The combination may help. I’m getting by on gabapentin alone and it’s definitely not 100% with the tingles and pricks, but far better than not taking it. I’m contemplating asking to increase the dose.

Are you taking anything for the neuropathy? Are you experiencing any improvement over time? My neurologist seem to think that while recovery as such is not feasible, that at least modest improvements are possible through long term healing and medication. Granted, this sounds like a particularly bad case, and I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this.

Mine was found completely randomly - I went in for blood work because I was having stomach issues after returning from a trip and my GP wanted to rule out an infection. I was really surprised to learn it, because I wasn’t overweight nor did I have a family history! But it just happens sometimes, I guess. In retrospect - I was always very thirsty and had to pee much more than a normal human.
It’s been controlled for a while but unfortunately I now have some tingles in the feet, which developed a full year after I started medication and got everything under control. My neurologist believes it’s basically the delayed effects of the previously uncontrolled sugars. Fortunately, it’s been stable for several years since and seems to be every so slowly improving slightly.
I imagine I would have much worse neurological issues had I not discovered it until later.

That intersection could have used a … semaphore. 🙃

Hi friend! I’m an American living in Portugal. Sorry about our bastard of a president. The wines here Portugal are fantastic, I can’t recommend them enough!
Since I’m a wine enthusiast from the states, here are some similar appellations that might satisfy your cravings, due to similar production styles and palates!
Napa and Sonoma Valley, CA … Alentejo
Willamette Valley, OR … Douro
Columbia Valley, WA … Dão, Tras-os-Montes

It’s unclear if MS is even winning considering they’re trying to hike the price 50%, and considering that Xbox sales are flat.

I’m a fan of pointing out that we aren’t even the only United States in North America.

Ah, Threads and some other lower quality social media are full of people making snarky comments to users from the States, saying something to the effect of “we are also in the Americas, so we’re Americans, you’re a US-ian”.
It all basically stems from the fact that in Spanish, the demonym for people from the US is “estadounidense” (United-Statesian) whereas “America” is used to refer to all of North and South America as a regions. People are too dumb to realise “America” has a different connotation in the two languages and it devolves into flame wars.

In the sense that the government and the people are misaligned? Or is this one of those “you’re united statesian, there are 30 countries in America” takes?

But think of the street cred!

I mean, you could approximate a phone with a lot of SBCs out there right now, if you stuck a screen onto it. A lot of them even have SIM modules. If somebody wanted to go full hacker you could probably 3D print a case for something like a Banana Pi, stick a cheap touchscreen OLED panel in there and Frankenstein up a battery. Would be a lot of work though and I’m sure getting all the shit working would be nontrivial.
But muh stonks!

At the risk of being downvoted, I think the beer quality is pretty similar on both sides of the border, except in what we call the Pacific Northwest, in a greater sense - Cascadia, if you will.
I’m not saying good beer doesn’t exist other places, but in my book, British Columbia, Washington and Oregon form a sort of fantastic microbrew continuum, an example where regional culture transcends the national borders.
A beer from Vancouver or Victoria is comparable in quality to Seattle or Portland, but they collectively wallop most breweries in the other parts of both our countries. These places have a much more developed beer culture, too. Hanging out at microbreweries is so much more of a thing in that region.

It’s just not the same if a child slave didn’t suffer for it. Or something.
Given all the horrific history of conflict diamonds, etc, why would anyone not want a lab made stone at this point?

Any Britons care to opine as to whether this is an important enough issue to UK voters as to be able election winning message? I don’t necessarily just mean general opinion as I expect many people are increasingly critical of Israel, but rather, is the ongoing war top of mind enough to win votes over inward-facing issues/campaigns? What is public sentiment like and how passionate is it?

I think that’s because ÖBB/Austrian Railways is the only operator that’s still investing in night trains

Not sure we care anymore, since the free trade agreement between EU and Mercosur was signed today. We don’t really need to trade with the US anymore. South America provides a huge export market for our products, and they supply better quality agricultural imports than the US can anyway.
