Unfortunately, some Lemmy users are idiots. Had a discussion with a person who thinks unions are the worst thing to happen to workers, and would not understand that they’re the reason we have weekends. The person probably wants slaves.

I would have also accepted “because they’re on the take” or just one big “GRIFFFFFFFTER” as alternative answers.
The people who want to bring back slavery assume they won’t be the slaves. If they aren’t billionaires then they are making a big assumption.
