It comes and goes in waves I’ve found. I’m 45 now and I’ve had periods where I couldn’t find the motivation to play a single game and then all of a sudden some game will grab me and I’ll be playing every chance I get. I personally find I’m more likely to get really into a game in the winter when I’m stuck inside a lot as opposed to the summer when I’m mostly out in the yard tending my garden and otherwise playing Stardew Valley irl.
I personally haven’t seen anything this year that really grabbed me. A few titles seemed potentially interesting but then launched as an unplayable hot mess. The current state of gaming is extremely poor in my opinion but there are still good titles coming out. Personally I’m very excited for the new Armored Core.
