People who don’t like anything are incredibly boring, in my humble opinion. Imagine putting all of this effort into an essay about why other people shouldn’t like the things that they like. I think a lot of people mistake being a contrarion for being an intellectual.

Rimworld and it’s not even close.

Put down a layer of cardboard, and then cover that with wood chips. I’ve been chipping away at my lawn this way (get it? chipping away?) for about 3 years and am almost done. As an added bonus it improves the soil as well.

It comes and goes in waves I’ve found. I’m 45 now and I’ve had periods where I couldn’t find the motivation to play a single game and then all of a sudden some game will grab me and I’ll be playing every chance I get. I personally find I’m more likely to get really into a game in the winter when I’m stuck inside a lot as opposed to the summer when I’m mostly out in the yard tending my garden and otherwise playing Stardew Valley irl.

I personally haven’t seen anything this year that really grabbed me. A few titles seemed potentially interesting but then launched as an unplayable hot mess. The current state of gaming is extremely poor in my opinion but there are still good titles coming out. Personally I’m very excited for the new Armored Core.

Stealth games are a popular genre and I personally find the character of Gollum to be quite compelling and I think it could have been done well, but it obviously wasn’t.

I do a pretty accurate Gollum impression and have entertained friends with it at great length and sometimes to their annoyance so maybe I relate to the character more than is usual but I can’t be the only one.

Earth? Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.

My wife and I tried D:OS and she got really bored really fast. I think the pacing of the first couple of chapters is really slow and there’s a lot of reading and not a lot of action and she just lost interest really quickly. Too bad but I get it.

Any and all of the various “rate my appearance” subs. Nothing but a bunch of vain, insecure, uninteresting people

I especially hated the job search charts. Congrats on the job but I literally do not care how many applications you put in or how many times you were ghosted. yawn

Well I’ll say that in marriage you’ve gotta pick your battles, but also that I would absolutely pick this battle and do it every single time while making direct eye contact with a shit eating grin on my face and just deal with the blowback. I might even step it up to singing along with the entire song and incorporate a dance routine.

But I am often an asshole so don’t think this absolves you of assholery.

So I see him pretending to have answers…charismatic? Not so much.

I was utterly obsessed with Legend of Kyrandia 1 when I was a kid. My best friend had it on his Amiga and we played countless hours of that game.

Never played the sequel though
