You have no idea if you have any. Cancer can happen at any time in your life and it can be genetic. And that’s just one example.

ah, but that’s what the ER is for. and the insurance I’m forced to pay for if it’s some long, protracted cure.

Sorry… you think the ER can treat cancer? Really?

The point was you didn’t think you needed that insurance because you’re healthy. You can get cancer at any time. Good luck getting chemo treatments without insurance. You can get in a serious car accident at any time either as a driver, a passenger or a pedestrian. Good luck getting physical therapy without insurance.

The ER isn’t a solution to every ailment.

yeah, you’ve got a point there, ER would just be the place to start.

obviously if I had cancer, I’d know it - and likely, a history of cancer in the family, but I don’t have that problem, praise be to God.

Nope. I had a friend who only found out he had testicular cancer because he thought he had a hernia. He didn’t have insurance either. He’s tens of thousands of dollars in crushing debt now… but it was that or die. Believe it or not, the ER didn’t treat it.

And, again, good luck getting physical therapy after a serious accident without insurance. Or is your good health going to protect you from being slammed into by a car?

I said a serious accident. Please re-read my post.

Again, how is being healthy going to save you from being hit by a car? How is not having insurance going to get you the physical therapy and possibly hospitalization you’ll need?
