- That sounds like a bunch of promises made by someone in marketing. - So much “journalism” feels like advertising.
- Ah, enlightenment. So, no pre-orders, right? - Never pre order.

- Sounds really cool, though still very light on details. I also hope it’s playable solo since it feels so hard to get a group of 4 people together as a working adult - Void crew is a version of this playable today. You can definitely play solo but nothing really comes close to how easy a game like SoT is to play solo
- Generally speaking if the company offers a Discord that’s a good place to meet people and group up. I did it a lot with Remnant 2. - Haha yeah, I’m just getting to a point where I’m old and don’t want to make new accounts for things

- I’m a bit concerned that someone somewhere thought that a game mix that contained Sea Of Thieves actually constituted a good proposition. - Sea of thieves is a solid 4/10 and marketers over here are treating it as some kind of high standard. It makes me question their credibility. - Oh never mind it’s IGN of course they said this. They know less about gaming than my mother. - It may not be your cup of tea, but a lot of people (me included) really like SoT. - Yeah this feels like a really biased take - It’s unfortunately classic Lemmy. Every post has at least one person commenting something along the lines of “Why would anyone like this?” as opposed to, y’know, actually engaging with the content. - Like you just did? Because going by Steam reviews my comment was justifiable

- If i had people to play with i would probably play it a lot. My friend group was only invested in the game for like 6-10 hours during covid and imo we had a hell of a time just hanging out trying things.

- It might have started a 4/10. By now, it’s touching 10/10 IMHO. But of course you have to like the kind of game it is.

- Full screen pop up ads, site is cancer - Why are you using the internet without a condom? - I get the experience of unprotected internet in my Lemmy app which uses Chrome for preview windows instead of Firefox. Haven’t seen ads in a decade so it’s a pretty wild contrast - I’d recommend DNS66 from f-droid, uses the phone’s VPN support to block ad DNS requests. It will filter ads and trackers from all apps on the phone.
- Does your app have an option to open links in the default external browser (which I would assume you have Firefox as)? - Yes it does, I can also choose Open External on specific links - which I do when I know I want to read or remember the link. - I haven’t changed the default behavior because I like keeping stuff “in” the app instead of filling my browser with tabs. I’m not saying that’s a good reason but it’s why I do it - Sounds like you need a pihole. - To add more excuses to the mix: I’m currently living with family while house hunting so I have no control over my network until I move :( - But it doesn’t bother me a ton so I’ll just live with it for now

- I’m in. 🤞🏽
- I’ve always said that the Railjack in Warframe really deserved to be its own game instead of a shoehorned game mode. - This looks like what that idea could be. Just being able to play Sea of Thieves IN SPACE!!! is a home-run of an idea.
- I thought Notch was employee #1 of Mojang. - Notch was the founder and owner of Mojang. When they talk about “employee #x” they mean employees after the founders even if the founders are on the payroll.
