Should be fined for the unsafe and unpermitted construction required for the removal of the Twitter sign which was against their lease, plus should be fined for not allowing inspectors to perform inspection of the X structure. Just because he’s rich doesn’t mean he should get away with whatever he wants.

You my friend appear to be confusing the U.S. with a more civilized nation.

Unfortunately, even if he was fined he would just take a little bit off the top of his arse wiping money and never feel a thing or even think about it again

Like hell he would. He’d cut someone else’s pay, or even their job, before it would occur to him that a $20 and a $5 feel and flush the exact same.

I hate that you’re right. Building owner should just kick him out and city hall should support it. Did the company formerly known as Twitter start paying their bills yet anyway?

Should also be fined for light polution in hundreds to thousands of homes and disruption of sleep. No one cares about the right to rest until some jackass decides to impose sleep deprivation on you with loud music when you come back home from putting in your 8 hours and need to drop on the bed, but can’t.

Lol you must be new here. That’s exactly what happens in these circumstances when a rich person is involved.

There will be retribution for Musk’s decision to ignore city permitting laws. “The property owner will be assessed fees for the unpermitted installation of the illuminated structure,” Hannan said, adding: “The fees will be for building permits for the installation and removal of the structure, and to cover the cost of the Department of Building Inspection and the Planning Department’s investigation.”

Someone will be paying some fees

Do you realise the absurdity of that last sentence ? Do you really think we should prevent the rich from getting away with whatever by taking a bit of their money ?

It was another attempt to get the tech press to run another story about Twitter and/or its leader, and it worked.

Yeah, no news (as in, from the moment Musk acquired it) would have made me continue to casually use Twitter. But the bad news that came out of Twitter quickly made me delete my account and eventually even make an active effort not to even click a twitter link (and encourage others to do the same). No way “all publicity is good publicity” applies to Twitter.

Obviously the little goblin never intended for it to stay up. The point was to get into the news and social media that twitter has changed its name.

A smart person would have gone down to that intersection, got into an accident and then sued elon for the repairs plus $1 million in pain and suffering/missed work - $10 million if they have a documented history of photosensitivity and can say it triggered a seizure and threatened their life.

Glad we’re getting this instead of keeping the dim colour scheme that literally costs nothing. Seems like a real good use of funds from a failing business
