I’m looking for an affordable option so I can replace all my normal socks. Not necessarily individual toe socks, but just wide enough in the front to better fit with a wide toe box shoe.

Since you’re not looking for individual toe socks this one’s easy: Darn Tough has a secondary brand called Wide Open that’s wider than their usual fit and has a more relaxed ankle fit, I’d check them out. All of their socks (both brands) have a true lifetime warranty so they’ll replace them for you if you manage to wear holes in them somehow. I have something like a dozen pairs of regular DT socks that are like 8 or 9y old, they’re worth the money.

Wide Open is a new thing, the old trick was to buy regular DT one size up (buy XL if you usually wear L) and wash/dry them once on warm so they shrink half a size, that gave me enough foot room that they didn’t bind my feet. This should work with just about any wool sock FWIW but you’re out of luck with synthetics, they won’t shrink to fit.

I ordered all my toe socks from Temu. The quality isn’t terrible, but the size range is not amazing. I wish they had more sizes

I just know of Plus12: they make normal socks with asymmetric shape to avoid restrict the foot. I would like to try them myself but didn’t yet. But they are not cheap and maybe not widely available - I think they are based in Europe.
