I’m excited about therapy. I have a new psychologist and she is so good. Can see a lot of healing and growth from this.

I was going to ask if it was you that was adopting them. Then I saw it was you that fostered them.

So on behalf of all of Lemmy, thank you for helping these little guys in their time of need. Boy are they gonna be confused. Born to one family, left in a park, found by another family, and just as they get comfortable, ANOTHER family ends up with them! I hope they don’t develop trust/abandonmrnt issues.

Maybe you could visit on weekends to help them understand that they weren’t bad pups and abandoned…well, not abandoned twice anyways.

At this point, I think they’re honorary park pets. Even after they’re adopted by someone, it’s like everyone in town knows of these pups, and they’ll absolutely have to bring them back out to the park occasionally.

They can’t help it, they need their play space!

I recently adopted a dog abandoned in a park. Wild that people just drop them off. Mine was in a dog park, at least, so I guess they assumed someone would care and just take him?

Our park isn’t particularly a dog park, but dogs are definitely welcome. Our park is a water park with a splash pad and kids play area, a couple of pavilions, a few wide open fields, a fishing pier with two covered pavilions of its own to fish from, a walking track and a boat ramp.

Even our city mayor comes out to the park occasionally to host parties, and those parties can get huge!

So yeah, even when we’re too busy to go out to feed them, other people have been helping with the good cause. Shit, even a couple of passing homeless people have brought them food too.

I knew it was just a matter of time before people talked around enough to try to find them a proper forever home. They haven’t quite been adopted just yet, but from what I heard yesterday from a neighbor that lives near the park is they’ll probably be adopted soon.

I start sea turtle patrol in a couple hours! Which is fancy for I walk a section of beach before the sun comes up looking for evidence that a mama turtle has made a nest. If I find one, I call it in, and a biologist & team will come out to survey the nest, possibly relocate it if necessary above the high tide line, and put a cage over it to protect it from coyotes and tourists. But there have only been 3 nests laid so far this season. It’s kind of a slow year. So I’m not expecting to find anything. But i might, which is cool, and the sunrises here are beautiful. Exercise, beach, and sunrise is not a bad way to start the day.

How cold is it in Australia where you live now?

I can’t imagine the winters being that cool at all.

      I’m surprised you can’t farm year-round.

Running a session of DnD tomorrow with my friends for the first time in a month and a half or so. The party (currently in the Feywild) is about to meet a sentient hill that’s protecting a goblin that has a key they need.

I find when I’m lost in the endless ocean that is the modern world. The little things that you can feel excited for make a big difference. For example I’m a hot sauce fan and when I go to the groc shop and pick up a new Interesting looking hotsauce I get a lil feeling of excitement and anticipation. “Is it going to be good, will I like it, I can’t wait to try it”. Idk if that’s just my broke as brain coping with reality but it’s the little things you can make exciting.
