This is a good “I am Very Smart” candidate which surprisingly doesn’t seem to have an active community here on Lemmy yet…and I might be just fine with that now that I think about it. It seemed like half the posts there on Reddit either were mean spirited, called out the wrong side in an argument, or were actually smart.

Yeah I don’t think anything of value is lost if we don’t recreate all they bully subreddits.

They’re unhealthy for their subjects, of course, because imagine seeing a post you made when you were younger on one of those subs and reading all the comments about how terrible a person you are

But they’re also unhealthy for the subscribers and readers - rage scrolling will fuck you up

Hard agree. They attract people who like feeling superior to others. You can imagine where things will inevitably lead when you put a bunch of them in the same place.

That aside it just reeks of trashy.

Same. How are some people so unaware of just how “average” they are?

I mean whether you’re checking your email, or not, just go do some meth. Your body will thank me later.

Mac users who don’t know the alternatives, don’t know about FLOSS, or have other rigid ideas about Safari being superior? Idk…

I would say this is mostly about mobile / tablet apps, not desktop usage, and Safari is far more often used on the iPhone than the Mac

maybe lemmy would be the drink from star trek: the original series (pilot episode “the cage”)
That drink had enough of every nutrions the species needed and tasted like what the living thing wanted (one that fits all)

But it is not a drug
You can watch the episode if you like but the special effects really fit 1988 but i think how the characters are played is way more modern that 1988
