We don’t call it sandwich. At least I don’t. In Austria we call it “Schnitzelsemmel”. In english scallop (bread) roll. So just scallop and roll in the term and in the product.
of course it would have different names, my suggestion is that just putting a piece of meat on/in a roll is an embarrassment to the concept of having food that is served between bread
