Listening to The Dollop and hearing him slowly radicalizing himself was fun
I think if learning history doesn’t radicalize someone into a leftist they either pretended to do the reading or they’re actually insane and shouldn’t be trusted.
It’s like atheists being the only people who actually know what’s in the Bible.
If americannhistory hasn’t been very carefully curated it’s pretty hard to come away with a conclusion that far off from John Browns final words.
Dave still has some lib brain worms about Ukraine and Russia, but his heart is definitely in the right place. Gareth has his faults too, but a couple times now he’s basically looked into the camera and told the audience they need to kill a billionaire. And I respect using your platform like that.

I started registering to the dollop from the beginning and it’s hilarious in like episode 6 when he’s like “we aren’t going to do much about politics”
Smash cut to their multi episode 400th special on Reagan.
Turns out it’s impossible to do a history podcast without involving politics lol. Also impossible to do one without radicalizing yourself.
Same thing happened with Mike Duncan and his Revolutions podcast now that I think of it. (I know I heard he’s still affected by lib brain worms, he pretty clearly ended the podcast way lefter than when he started it.)

The Dollop is my favorite podcast. I am about a year behind but it is the podcast I listen to to wind down a bit before going to sleep. That’s not to say it’s boring but that it puts me in a pretty good mood while still being interesting.
