Pictured: Wuling Binguo EV, one of the EV car I most often see in Jakarta and Surabaya, Indonesia. I also am beginning to see BYD EV cars in Jakarta too

As an Indonesian, I am kinda surprised to see at least like one or two EV each day in Jakarta and Surabaya, especially when EVs here are still considered expensive cars.
I am also surprised seeing more EVs than hybrid cars here
I see the one in my driveway every day
teslas are everywhere here in brisbane, can’t really go anywhere without seeing one, byd starting to make inroads as well
We’re contributing +1 to the BNE BYD community. Seals are so pretty.
Got a long way to go to match the number of Teslas getting around though. Seems like Sunnybank / Algester / Calamvale sort of area has reached Tesla saturation point.
I see them every day on the road. I wish I would see more of them. Here’s hoping we continue to make progress over the next few years.
Just came back from China, Shanghai and Beijing. Lol you haven’t seen streets full of EVs yet if you haven’t seen that
I live in Denmark, and I see EVs everywhere.
Teslas, Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6, VW i.d. 3’s 4’s, Skoda Enyaqs, Xpengs, BYDs, and even a good amount of Mercedes electrics.
Apparently the statistics say that 11.5% of all registered cars in Denmark are full electrics, and just over 50% of new cars sold are full electric.
I live in California so I see them everywhere.
In Vancouver it’s not uncommon to literally see 5 Tesla’s stopped at an intersection during a light change. Other EVs are also quite common as part of normal traffic, though EVs overall are not quite the majority yet.
Considering I can’t look at one and tell in most cases, probably a lot more than I think. I know one person in the apartment complex Iive in has an EV because I see how at night they have it plugged in and I know the instructor for the college club I’m in has an EV that I’ve been in a few times, but otherwise it would have to be something distinct enough looking like a tes|a or cybercrime against design… I mean cybertruck in order for me to notice. So definitely an increase from a few years ago when I didn’t live near anyone with one nor had ever really been in one.
US and in a fairly big city, if that matters.
Edit:
City public busses were/are(?) going electric, starting maybe a couple years ago I think. Don’t know how many have switched, but pretty sure I might have been on one and they’re really not too different from their non-electric counterparts in mind from a rider perspective.
In my EV desert of Saskatchewan, Canada, I still actually see a fair number. Despite the cold weather and low availability of fast charging they’re still getting more popular. I always try to share my great experience with my Ioniq 5 whenever anyone asks.
BYD is very interesting to me. Immediately after they start selling cars here in Jakarta I started seeing them everywhere.
Daily and the numbers are building, to the chagrin of everyone I work with, whom all loathe the simple concept of EVs, because they are unreliable and still too recent of a technology to be trusted.
Rural USA?
Not USA, pretty rural area but the backlash comes mostly from young people. Which I find strange.
Huh, that is strange.
Plenty rolling around the UK, 3x more than a few years ago
Yep. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t more than that in my region. I was the only person I knew with one 5 years ago. Now they are everywhere, and I see 10+ daily in my local streets ignoring mine and my neighbours.
Lots of Teslas in this town including a surprising number of Cybertrucks with custom wraps. I can’t tell how many silver ones there are as I don’t remember plates, but I’ve also seen a black one and a red one.
yes, majorly increased, or maybe i just started paying More attention.
I see about 10-20 teslas a day, and that’s just ~20 minutes of being outside. Apart from these ugly teslas (cybertrucks are luckily not here yet) there’s not many, except those beautiful smart cars.
Montreal, Canada: I see at least one Model 3 or Model Y every time I go out, usually several. More often than not, I’ll see an Ioniq or a Kona. Polestar, BMW i4, Mach-E are rarer, but not uncommon. Saw a Cybertruck for the first time a couple weeks ago. Most of the local Communauto (carsharing service) vehicles seem to be either Prius or Bolt.
Definitely an increase compared to a few years ago, or even just last year. Hope the trend continues.
