hope it has something similar to the recovery mode paperclip bypass of the early switch 1 models, or at least gets emulation almost as fast
i guess it will be interesting to see what nintendo development looks like on a console more powerful than a 2005 xbox 360

I want what I always want, a new F-Zero game and I know I will get nothing
I don’t trust Nintendo to make an F-Zero game for a lot of reasons, one of the main things is that F-Zero is one of those series that tells the player straight in the face “fuck you, we’re not going to hold your hand” unlike what Nintendo games have been mostly doing lately. Not to mention the best one to this day wasn’t even made by Nintendo, it was made by Sega (AX/GX).

No idea. To be honest, I don’t know what Nintendo’s direction with the switch 2 would be? The steamdeck seems to me to be seated in the position that the switch 2 would seek to place itself. Imo, there was a lot of room left by the wii with motion and pointing controls that Nintendo left unexplored, especially after the wii motion plus was released. I also feel the same way with the dual screen and touch screen of the ds and 3ds (with resistive touch screens instead of capacitive)
imo steam deck and switch are for two totally different audiences. steam deck is more for game enthusiasts who play on pc and want to tweak stuff. switch is for normies who just wanna jump over things in games. not saying either is better than the other or anything. just seems different to me

as for games, a little too soon but i would love another mario and luigi game, or a kid icarus remake/sequel, or a fire emblem game
i imagine they will announce a big and popular game coming for the switch 2 but it will probably will be that new mario kart game with 24 players or maybe they will add one more
New IP. Enough with the remakes, the Maddenification of old IPs, and rehashing the same characters. If they must, they can dig up an old studio and put it to work on something with a similar vibe.

I’d be happy with a new Animal Crossing/3D Mario/Zelda (Unlikely with ToTK being so recent) but I doubt any of those three will get announced as launch titles except maybe a 3D Mario.
I am hoping they will have made the console itself somehow be able to display through the TV with the dock while in handheld mode, cause that’s the only way I can ever see DS games being added to the NSO subscription but tbh they have like 95% of the GBA’s library they haven’t added and thankfully I have a modded 3DS so it isn’t like their handheld games are inaccessible to me.
Am hoping it isn’t more than like $400 but it probably won’t be a pre-order or anything for me in any event unless they announce some day 1 Zelda, AC, Smash, or impressive-looking 3D Mario launch title.
I’d love to see if the Final Fantasy IX remake is real and if it will be on Switch 2. I’m gonna play the original after I finish VIII regardless of news.
