The whole phenomenon of Internet dipshits rubbernecking at Chris-Chan’s life is one of the most depressing things in the history of online culture. There are probably kids into this pointless spectacle today who were born after the “saga” (fuck off) started.

I don’t want to defend the Chris Chan harassers, but mocking Sonichu and general online bullying of Chris was a thing years before she came out as trans.

Of course, her coming out as trans threw a bunch of gas on the fire because the people cyber bullying an autistic person also turned out to be transphobes :shocked-pikachu:

Yeah, she wasn’t out for the majority of her “popularity”.

Internet dwellers have a long history of hating anyone who deviates from whatever they deem to be normal, see furries for the ur-example

I just called out an old friend yesterday for his hatred of the furry community. Luckily he is reasonable, and when I said “it sounds like you’re misunderstanding the community at large” they acquiesced and admitted that they most likely are.

It’s just such a pointless thing to get mad about, like hating Justin Bieber or something.

There’s like a million gory flash animations on Youtube that are essentially just “what if the heckin’ Space Marines did an Exterminatus on the furries”
