It will go somewhere, all right… when the DOGE-cut NWS gets enough complains, it pre-empts enough justification for it to be privatized and for such company to appear in the hands of some billionaire, maybe but not necessarily Trump-aligned.
If Elon wasn’t publically fueding with Trump he would be a natural fit given his brand. Imagine a Starlink Weather Service where you need to have an overpriced subscription to unreliable slow internet (that doubles as a cat bed) in order to get up to date weather data.
