My Ceanothus americanus is flowering and absolutely crawling with insects. Below are pictures of the star-shaped flower buds before bloom and then some more of the blooms themselves
We’ve also harvested a ton of cherries this week, along with snap peas and a second round of lettuce. Our trap tomatoes are growing a little slowly but our production ones are beginning to set fruits.

Damn that sucks. Why are they planting grass? For cattle? Who owns the land?
I don’t know who “owns” the land, but no humans live there. They haven’t planted the grass yet, but that seems most likely since that’s what people do around here. The grass would most likely be for cattle pasture, though some people also plant maize for pig/chicken feed for a year or two before converting to pasture.
