Going from hearing absolutely nothing about Nepal to suddenly seeing a bunch of news about the country has left me feeling like The Onion’s “Situation In Nigeria Seems Pretty Complex”

I’m not an expert on the topic but from what I’ve seen so far, it appears to be moreso a combination of the fact that the masses live in a 3rd world urban hell where basic needs like clean drinking water are unavailable because their government was full of opportunists who abandoned communist principles for personal gain, hoarding taxpayer money instead of developing vital infrastructure, and possible foreign interference that has taken advantage of the people’s righteous anger, Arab Spring style. Apparently there was a peaceful protest yesterday but then 19 people were shot dead by the pigs, including schoolchildren.
This is a pattern that has played out in Bangladesh last year and is currently playing out in Indonesia too.
