Poor bastard. It’s like watching Bernie being crushed all over again.

It just solidifies my belief that there is no reforming the Dems. They are right-wing enablers and collaborators and their actions suggest it’s deliberate.

you can do little a entryism in some local politics but if you get the national spotlight like Mamdani has they do everything to drag you down, and if you don’t they fuck you like they fucked Nevada.

I’m still kinda optimistic that he can win New York, but I think it’s immediately going to be followed by an insanely blatant demonstration of how thoroughly state and county structures can hamstring city officials.

yeah i think he’ll win but they probably won’t even let him do the grocery stores. Hochul seems like she can sort of tell which way the wind is blowing so maybe the state will be less bad than we fear.

At least the crushing is happening 2 years before the general election. From an electoral perspective there’s not a lot of hope of any kind of left victory coming up, but interesting things could happen along the way. Three interesting things will certainly affect both electoral and non-electoral politics.

Yeah ofc it could. As it pertains to the presidential election, it probably will. I think the fact that I’m hearing some normie liberals get their hopes down on mayor Pete 3.5 years in advance means a couple interesting things might happen. The last couple cycles they had their heads in the sand and popped up 6 months before the election to vote blue.
