gas is good until you have enough storage to handle days without sun/wind
what are they proposing as an alternative?
“Earlier this week, conservative German Economy and Energy Minister Katherina Reiche unveiled a series of proposals, such as the building of new gas-fired plants and the phasing out of certain renewable subsidies, in order to boost energy security and supply.”
Problem is that Reiche is connected to the fossil sector and is openly boosting it, while also reducing renewables subsidies.
There are plans in place already to have gas plants built for low wind/solar times. This is going further, but in the wrong direction.
