On September 27 9:30 PM a boat opened fire into a restaurant named ‘American Fish Company’ in South Port, North Carolina

The press conference says that 3 people were killed and 5 people are injured with 1 injured person being in very critical condition.
The police said that they knew the suspect but he didn’t have a serious criminal record.
The police said that he had tried to sue many people.
The shooting victims were tourists, not locals.

Utah gov. Cox received hardly any criticism for saying after the UVU OwO incident that he was praying the shooter wasn’t “one of us” but I can see where he was coming from. I feel relief seeing that the suspect here is white former marine with a high and tight. Because the RW media machine, LibsofTiktok especially, is so anxious to blame shootings on trans and/or leftists and ramp up repression.
I wish instead of feeling relieved at the identity of the suspect, that my first reaction would be feeling bad about the 3 people murdered and the 5 more with probably life-altering injuries and the dozens traumatized. And wish that I felt appropriate dismay that this was a regular occurrence in the USA, but the powers that be are unwilling to moderate the situation in any way so
I feel the same way. You can’t properly mourn, grieve, or sympathize. There’s no breaks, it’s just mass shooting after mass shooting. Same with the genocide in Gaza, it’s just daily heinous shit. Just absolute despair and it has been normalized.
Nah there’s a difference. You want it to be not one of you, so that there won’t be more oppression. They want it not not be one of them so that they can do more oppression.
