Lao President Arrives Here
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) – At the invitation of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, arrived here by the presidential plane on October 7 to pay a congratulatory visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.
The flags of the DPRK and the LPDR were fluttering at the flagstaffs in Pyongyang International Airport and the guard of honor of the Korean People’s Army lined up at the apron before the terminal.
Kim Song Nam, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and director of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee and Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, greeted Thongloun Sisoulith.
A woman worker presented a fragrant bouquet to him.
Lovely children welcomed the goodwill envoy of the Lao people, waving the flags of the two countries. -0-

Ceremony Held to Welcome Lao President
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) – There took place on October 7 a ceremony for welcoming Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, who pays a congratulatory visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Present at the ceremony were Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ri Hi Yong, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Choe Son Hui, minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, and other leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs, citizens and youth and students in Pyongyang.
The national flags of the DPRK and the LPDR were seen and the guard of honor of the Korean People’s Army was lined up at the venue for the ceremony.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, came to the venue for the ceremony.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly greeted Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith and had a significant photo taken with him against the background of the national flags of the two countries.
Kim Jong Un introduced to Thongloun Sisoulith the leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs who came to receive him.
After exchanging greetings with Vilay Lakhamphong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the LPRP who is concurrently vice prime minister and minister of Public Security, Thongsavanh Phomvihane, foreign minister of the LPDR, and other entourage members of the Lao side, he took the reviewing stand with Thongloun Sisoulith.
A 21-gun salute was fired amid the playing of the national anthems of the LPDR and the DPRK.
Guided by Kim Jong Un, Thongloun Sisoulith reviewed the guard of honor of the KPA
There took place a march-past of the guard of honour of the KPA.
When the ceremony was over, the venue was filled with stormy cheers of “Welcome” and “Friendship”, reflecting the Korean people’s feelings of friendship with the Lao people.
Warmly welcoming Thongloun Sisoulith who paid a congratulatory visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, Kim Jong Un expressed his pleasure of meeting him.
Referring to his impressions of visiting Pyongyang again after the lapse of 14 years, Thongloun Sisoulith expressed heartfelt thanks to the WPK and the government and people of the DPRK for their warm hospitality. -0-

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Has Talks with Lao President
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) – Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, had talks on October 7 with Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on a congratulatory visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed the visit of Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith to Pyongyang and said that his visit is an expression of the full support and encouragement of the Lao party, government and people for the cause of our Party and people.
He said that our Party, government and people wished the Lao party and people greater successes in their struggle.
Thongloun Sisoulith conveyed the best wishes and comradely greetings of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, government and people to the WPK, the DPRK government and people significantly greeting its 80th founding anniversary. He said that Laos is always a close friend of the fraternal Korean people and it is the consistent stand of the state leadership body of Laos to continue to develop the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries.
The talks introduced the experience gained by the two parties and the two countries in building the party and the state and discussed issues arising in boosting mutual cooperation between the DPRK and the LPDR.
The talks expressed expectation and conviction that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries would grow stronger in conformity with the aspiration and desire of the two peoples.
The talks proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
In the evening Kim Jong Un hosted a reception in welcome of Thongloun Sisoulith’s visit to Pyongyang.
Kim Jong Un and Thongloun Sisoulith made speeches at the reception.

interesting that both vietnam and laos visited them recently, wonder what’s that about, not nukes obviously, but what they are cooperating on 🤔 hopefully how to not be complete fucking lib (looks at vietnam), and do more stuff for your people 🙏
I think the Vietnam visit hasn’t happened yet. KCNA said on October 6 that the Tô Lâm (general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam) will visit soon.
