i’ve noticed lately that there seems to be federation issues with lemmy.world. i don’t receive updates from communities or users there, and looking at my profile from lemmy.world, it’s missing a few comments that were posted in the last days, when usually it’s much much quicker to update.

even when looking at .world communities on here when not logged in, they seem to be stuck in the past! for example, from here the last post from !games@lemmy.world is from 5 days ago, but on .world there are many more recent posts.

does anyone else have issues with them? are we blocking them, or are they blocking us?

Now that you mention it, everything I am subscribed to on lemmy.world is similarly from five days ago. Most notably on the very active !tenforward@lemmy.world

I checked and I don’t have it instance blocked, so it doesn’t seem to be what @Jorunn@piefed.blahaj.zone is suggesting.

    vs.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the recent update that changed the redirect from the front-end?

Maybe the sub-sub-domains aren’t properly federating? Since for instance my browser no longer just says https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/ but rather https://lem.lemmy.blahaj.zone/

Oh, you are both lemmy and not piefed. Strange. I am also not seeing anything newer than 4-5 days on tenforward here on piefed.

That was done less than 24 hours ago. The issues with lemmy.world federation predate it

Also, the change of the front end UI URL doesn’t change anything behind the scenes, anymore than using a 3rd party app from your phone does. The backend is still sitting on the existing domain.
