Sandwiches don’t necessarily need to have bread on top.

Most sushi is not wrapped at all.

A slice of apple pie is a taco. A slice of pumpkin pie is toast. A whole apple pie is a calzone, a whole pumpkin pie is a quiche. See how silly you sound?

But a pie should have a lid. If anything #7 should be pie rather than calzome.

And even with a lid, it isn’t quite #7.

#7 is for things where there’s basically no distinction between the top and bottom. Even pies with a crust on top has a distinct “top” side, whereas the sides and bottoms are all pie crust.

#7 is for calzones, corn dogs, burritos, dumplings, pot stickers, ravioli, etc.

I think a pie should have an upper crust, so it’s more of a tart. Of course, tons of common food names break this convention so maybe quiche is fine anyways

The “sushi” should be “burrito”. That’s just one type of sushi, because what I picture when I hear “sushi” would probably be in the “toast” category (if rice counts as the “bread”)

This is what it comes from, and this meme is a poor cut of the rules and logic, probably for space reasons.
