With Hurricane Melissa tearing through the Caribbean, the only song that could come to my mind.
PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation is by far my most favorite artistic reckoning with climate change. Every line hits so hard and it is some of my favorite metal ever.
I truly believe, climate change must not be conveyed through stats and descriptions and images anymore. But through brutal poetic imagery, religious analogies, earth shattering monsters. We see the dragon clear in our view, and yet the greedy purveyors of doom can not stop to feed him evermore.
The music video for Straws in the Wind comes to mind too
The feel of that song really is the vibe of the 2020s. Just watching it all go to hell, little peons that we are.
I truly believe, climate change must not be conveyed through stats and descriptions and images anymore. But through brutal poetic imagery, religious analogies, earth shattering monsters.
This is why I wail on The Dripping Tap (and half of Changes and all of Petrodragonic) at every opportunity
