I think that when people (hopefully all of us on this website) work to eliminate ableist language from their vocabulary, they end up with many fewer words to describe certain patterns/behaviors negatively.

GOOD post, absolutely excellent points. I think a lot of people imagine they’re so “cool” when they dismiss a detailed rebuttal with an “OK nerd” reply (which can be fine in some situations, as you point out), but that’s no way to treat comrades who are being sincere. Caring about things is cool, actually.
