I mean, how do we know these are real people listening to it? Could be bots listening to music made by bots to generate money for bot.

Country music is just a madlib of about a dozen or so pbr grillman garf-chan freedom-and-democracy terms anyways. It might as well be written by monkey-typewriter

I don’t generally listen to this genre but the other day I was at some local pizza joint and they had an all-country playlist going. Every single song we heard featured lyrics about:

    1. driving, often specifically in a truck
    2. nostalgia (either for summer, a beach, or camping)
    3. alcohol (all but one song specifically about beer)

As I noticed this, I thought to myself that these songs could very easily be AI-generated. Of course this isn’t specific to country music, but it is funny to see this story just after I was thinking about it a few days ago.

Now a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song

And he told me it was the perfect country and western song.

Well, I wrote him back a letter and told him it could not be the perfect country and western song

Because he hadn’t said anything at all about mama,
      or trains,
      or trucks,
      or prison,
      or gettin’ drunk.

The current crop would hate him. He married interracially, spoke out against the treatment of Native Americans and Americas brutal history of em, went into San Quentin and thrashed that place and the prison system altogether. He’d be absolutely despised. The one’s talking about “conservative is the new punk” would clutch their pearls

In other words- He was a true proletariat. Proletariat culture in the empirical core has been co oped by bourgeois propaganda a million times over and flooded with cosplayers. Tell the people who would revolt against you what to think by giving them an actor pretending to be them. All you really need to do is get the middle class who still thinks they’re part of the lower class, the lower class becomes so ignored they can either tow the line or be rejected by everyone around them.

It’s a sick fucking state of affairs and the sins of this country can only repaid by the utter destruction of the capitalist system.

Country music is just white coded pop/hip-hop.

It was effectively AI slop made by people before it was automated.

Also, if I’m not mistaken, Spotify likes actual songs diluted by LLM slip because it lets them pay out less. Some weirdness of how the pay model works
