I remember a time when I would say, Toyota not shipping the Hilux to my country was the worst part of living in the US. Now, it’s not even in my top 500 things wrong with the US.
Didn’t ya get the Tacoma? Isn’t that a Hilux?
Last I checked they were slowly merging into the same thing but the frames, towing capacity, and engine options favored the Hilux. I grew up with the 80/90’s Toyota Pickup (aluminum can) so I also appreciate a smaller format truck. I’m kinda short so it’s nice to have a truck I don’t have to climb a ladder to get in and out of while looking like I’m compensating for something. These new trucks, even the Taco, are getting a bit ridiculous.
I would still pretty gladly take a gas one, but this electric one is not compelling
Hilux used to be and look like work vehicles, now they look like expensive pieces of shit.
Look at how tall that bonnet is! Fuck visibility I guess.
The Hilux Workmate is still a real Ute.
But will still run after dropping it 20 stories off a roof?
With unbelievably bad range, and useless range when towing.
