Resort staff have been very helpful, bringing medicine and extra blankets, but even getting up to use the bathroom has become a Herculean task and I can’t keep anything down more solid than tea lol

It’s almost inevitable when traveling out there (honestly you can try eating only super cooked stuff when you get there but you’ll still get it eventually). Hope you come out the other end fine
Uncle Ho’s Revenge
Why is this?
Microbes from the local environment are just way different from what you’re used to. Even if you heated really well cooked food (like curries and stuff), you will get exposed to small amounts of local water no matter what. Eventually you’ll get some kind of stomach bug resulting from the exposure, though maybe being careful for awhile can help with the severity when you get it. I dunno, I got through 2 months without getting anything but I spent my first month in SEA almost always eating curry, lol.
dirty water
not even necessarily dirty water but also just different microbes that you’re not used to
It’s your xenophobic gut bacteria pulling the Samson option as soon as they hear bacteria speaking with an accent. I was embarrassed to play the host for this sort of reactionary behavior but my system is now more diverse and tolerant. I hope.
ime not really. but it probably depends on what kind of food you eat in your home country
