Parts of Ranma 1/2 take place in China and several of the characters are Chinese. It’s a martial arts story with a gender-bending plot.
I should note that even with the red stars gone and the name “China” removed from the one outfit that the Ranma reboot does still have a lot of Chinese “aesthetics”, the opening theme for the second season is called “Wo Ai Ni” for instance, Shampoo still has a Chinese accent and still uses gratuitous Chinese phrases, etc.
