i doubt it’s carbrained, more like reducing walking time from 10 minutes to 2 minutes (better than sending people to treat delivery apps in any case when they have mild mobility issues, although i think they get assigned social worker, but still, agency and stuff)
Nah, these things go where there is no grocery store anymore at all. All the small village grocers have died out because everybody just uses their cars to go the next biggest town (of 10.000 people or so) where there’s 4 stores with bighuge parking lots because the prices are cheaper. Basically every village in western europe has given up every bit of local infrastructure in favour of just using their car to go the next town. This both fucks people unable to drive, so often old women who depended on their husbands to do it for them because patriarchy, and children for obvious reasons. It’s also a huge factor as to why so many rural settlements cry about the lack of investments in their communities despite those typicall receiving a rather disproportionate amount of taxes because it’s hugely uneconomical to keep utilites running to a village of 200 single family homes where 0 economic activity happens
