We lost our car, help us not lose our lives, . A Black trans AuDHD person with multiple disabilities & crowdfunder of 6 lost their car after impacted in a hit-and-run October fifteenth. They have NO income -- this loss is a huge issue. Without a car, they are more vulnerable to viral exposures, unable to seek healthcare the hospital advised them to seek, or thrift shop for clothes they lack. They’re severely unprepared for winter, relying on rideshares and deliveries that are far more expensive! This is while they live without even the most basic needs met, malnourished, and owing bills that are below a thousand dollars for the first time in over a year. PRIMARY needs:

  • $0/300 for groceries (reset, overdue, continues to be TIME SENSITIVE)
  • $0/247 gas for heating & cooking (past due, will increase)
  • $0/400 to hire cleaners for inspection (multiple disabilities, cleaning hard, home inaccessible since move-in Jan 2025, risk of failing lease renewal)
  • ~$300 for warm clothes/coat!

Wifi was paid! by previous donors. Gas may be able to be paid via payplans, with just half the amount. But to even think of bills they truly need to cover food ASAP. They’ve ran out of what little they were able to afford the other day.

Their car helped with a multitude of things. Accessing meals. Food pantries. In-person support from organizations with paying off bills! Thrift clothes, tho they never had enough funds to do so. Even emotionally, it provided time & space away from conflict at home. Hell, if it hadn’t been totaled post-wreck, they would’ve been able to go to hospital sooner rather than the 5 days it took to afford a rideshare without going hungry.
