I’m almost 125 years old, be having a birthday in about a week. At least as far as every “service” that has my birthday believes.

I was actually born on the first of January in the year 1901
I’ve been born in 1980 since I was like 12. Might graduate to being born in 1990 or 2000 if someone ever makes me scroll to the year.
I mean I know 1/1 is a very popular “birthday” for cultures that don’t actually celebrate but people are asked to pick one.
1/1 is the birthday of all horses.
As far as Steam knows, I’m turning 126 next week.

Me too. I used to use 1990-01-01, until I noticed that suddenly people from the early 2000s are adults too.
I love getting a random bday email from playstation that I setup when was like 14. Pretty sure I was born in 1946 or something.

Of course, there’s that, but it’s a good lesson to learn that just because some jackass requires that you fill in a birthday you’re under no obligation to give it to them.

Wouldn’t surprise me if meta demanded a legal ID photo or something, I recall facebook doing that at one point

This. This is NOT Meta’s fault. They are only complying with draconian laws made to “protect the children”. Meta deserves a lot of flak, but not for this.
With the number of breaches and leaks, my chosen birthday is likely more substantiated than my actual birthday.
This reminds me when I was applying for credit card they couldn’t confirm my identity because they were on a call with me and said this number is not associated to your name in any databases.
I got it in my name from the provider idk what other “databases” they have with names and numbers, but I’m happy I’m not there.

Just enter a false birthday
And when Meta eventually locks the account for a dumb reason, recovery probably won’t be possible because the account doesn’t match your real birthday. It’s safe to assume it’s only going to get worse.
Move away from Meta as soon as possible, ideally to some place that doesn’t collect personal info uncessarily.
