Rage-inducing for sure, but I don’t believe it to be “bait”. I think the guy in the video is saying his genuine belief.
It is definitely Israel’s interest to take control of social media. Benjamin Netanyahu has said social media is Israel’s weapon. The ownership of tiktok is being transfered to Larry Ellison, who is Netanyahu’s personal friend. Twitter is owned by Musk, who is loyal to Israel. Facebook/Instagram/Meta is loyal to Israel.

It’s no different from those clips of Hillary Clinton from a while ago where she was talking about how it’s a problem that people are no longer getting their information on Palestine/Israel from a handful of heavily curated sources. Her implication was obvious, they want to be able to control the narrative again, and this guy is just stating it even more plainly.
The Hillary Clinton clip wasn’t that long ago, it was less than a month ago. She gave a speech at the Doha Forum in Qatar on December 8, where she said that social media was giving misinformation to young people.

If there were ever a moment where it’s time to get off of social media and never return it’s now. That’s so fucking grim.

Lemmy? No. Hexbear? I feel like we’re the unique instance where their typical methods wouldn’t work.
Yeah, they would have to innovate a new method, such as making a controversial post about rocks or cats.
