It’s what I hear all the time. My own pharmacist has complained to me, in front of a shop full of customers, about how much my prescriptions cost the NHS. I’ve had some high-up NHS chief attempt to change one of my meds, purely on cost grounds, back to one that didn’t work and gave me horrific side effects. I had to fight to keep the one that worked. I’ve had my GP surgery try to cut my meds down, against the hospital consultant’s orders, just to keep costs down. And when I asked for advice about a prescription item in an NHS subreddit, all the doctors and nurses and everyone else in that sub told me I’m a drain on the country and to stop taking my prescriptions to stop costing the NHS money, even though they know I will die without some of them. It’s always money, money money. That’s all that matters, not people. Same thing with the DWP stopping my benefits, who cares if I starve and have to beg strangers for food, better than costing the country money. I don’t know why they don’t just legalise assisted suicide and get rid of us useless eaters.
