I remember back in like 2019-2020 $100 getting me an order of like big shopping cart proportions. And I really don’t eat big, I average about 3 meals the usual with a light snack before bedtime. The “affordability hoax” sure Trump.

Glad you got some help! Food is honestly beyond unaffordable for a lot of people now, and even for people with means it’s become an utterly ridiculous expense. When someone is kind enough to give me a supermarket gift card I try to stretch it out as long as possible because someone parted with their money to help me, and I had hoped to just make a mutual aid post at the end of each month but it has got to the stage that sometimes I have to post sooner because prices have just gone up like crazy. The current situation just doesn’t seem sustainable for anyone.
Yeah same I do try and stretch out the money and look for deals where I can, but the prices are already kind of inflated being on door dash, but what can I do? I don’t have my car anymore and my dad is an asshole who’s never in a good enough mood to go out.
Yeah when my mobility issues flare up badly or my landlady can’t drive me I have to order for supermarket delivery direct from sainsburys and that adds another expense too.
