I think what he was suggesting is it muddies the evidence. If the gun wasn’t fired, that’s proof that it wasn’t ever used against them. If it was fired at some point, then the pigs can claim he fired it at them and there’s no way to prove otherwise.
Fascists do not care about the video evidence, they will just outright lie and yell “but the gun was fired!” and then it’s on you to explain at length that the gun was fired after it had already been taken away.
