Less negligence and more malice. The gun has been fired at that point. It’s provable.

Apparently they forgot about the multiple people filming them from different angles but habits die hard

I would be willing to give benefit of the doubt that it was panic shooting brought on by a negligent discharge if not for the fact the shooting cop used his arm to quite calmly move all the other cops out of the way so he could light up the guy.

Maybe Im built different but if I were spooked by an accidental discharge of a gun my first thought would be to drop down, assuming I’m being shot at by ANYONE OTHER THAN THE UNARMED GUY BEING MOBBED BY 5 PEOPLE, rather than to immediately shoot that guy 27 times

It’s a Sig P320, so there’s always the possibility it’s an uncommanded discharge, they just do that sometimes, especially when being holstered and unholstered (such as when or shortly after Pretti was forcibly disarmed, a law enforcement agent unholstered Pretti’s gun before other agents shot and killed him while he was unarmed)

If Pretti’s P320 did actually did discharge without a trigger pull, surely that must be it for this gun at least, and I don’t see how Sig Sauer could live this down. But that’s a big if, it’s always possible that the agent was negligent and pulled the trigger or that the gun wasn’t discharged.
