A lot of groups were putting out primers around 2020 about protecting oneself with helmets, goggles, respirators, etc. I am curious if something like a Mechanix-style glove with the hard plastic covering the knuckles and fingers would have provided our heroine any protection?
Edit:
Are there gloves that maintain dexterity that can protect ones hands from LTL impact munititions?
Are there groin cups that are unobtrusive and do not limit mobility that can protect testicle-havers from LTL munition impacts? I think there are flexible sports cups but I wonder if that would be enough protection, maybe there are low profile hard cups.
Anyone know about “bump caps”? They look like baseball caps but provide a degree of impact protection without making it obvious the wearer is helmeted - does this protect the head from impact munitions?
Edit 2: I was using cop speak calling them less than lethals
Amerikans are in the fortunate situation that they can still wear armor to protests, which does not apply to all countries in the imperial core. They should use every advantage they can get.
Imagine if all this shit causes the right to pass gun reform. Sorry plebs can’t have guns and body armor anymore because The Libs are bringing those things to protests!
In Germany you aren’t even allowed to wear a mask or scarf and things like helmets, goggles & respirators are classified as “defensive weaponry” if used at protests. Arguably this even applies to padding and boots. Anything that makes you less vulnerable to the piggies using force against you.
This is us except not being clowns. I’m wondering about the specifics of 1) protecting extremities, and 2) the use of protective gear that does not get the wearer targeted. The oinkers love to focus in on people who have taken steps to protect themselves from their brutality.
Thanks for the recs, I’ll check on the cups if I ever need this kind of PPE. Those riding gloves are serious business, those would work for sure! The only issue I see there is affordability e.g. could a group buy a bunch of pairs to hand out to people and also conspicuousness. But I am thinking the Mechanix gloves I was thinking of would not do the trick.
There’s a lot to be said for something made to keep your hand together in a motorcycle crash. I have not been failed by riding gear. Many of the jackets have armor built into them as well. I’m fond of Icon gear.

They would ban body armor for protestors first

Modern athletic cups aren’t bad, they make boxer brief style carriers. They are made for mobility and relative comfort.
There are motorcycle gloves with hard plastic or carbon fiber knuckle protectors. Bonus benefit, they happen to be great for punching with.
