And then there’s also a meta level that makes me even more happy — I see the chain reaction of the post making you smile, and then your comment making me smile, and I smile even more at how easy it can be to brighten people’s day. In recent years, I’ve made an active effort to be more kind and sincere in how I interact with strangers on the internet, and it’s made one hell of a difference to my mental wellbeing. It makes me feel less alone to see the ripple effects of compassion.
