I read somewhere that pharmacies here (I don’t think all of them but some) were refusing prescriptions from gender GP and imago.
Jeez. What is the background level of transphobia like there? Like the public discourse etc? I live on TERF island so i assumed things would be significantly better there.
In terms of society generally, probably not higher than other places, but the healthcare for trans people is extremely gatekeepy. You won’t get seen through official channels unless you are prepared to socially transition first and they also won’t entertain the idea that some trans people don’t actually want srs. The people in charge of the one clinic in the country that will see people who are above a certain age is run by transphobes and the one surgeon in the country who does srs is a transphobe. They are lobbying against the adoption of the ICD 11 because it’s more inclusive than the ICD 10. They are also aggressively lobbying to outlaw private trans care.
