Public libraries and botanical gardens (and more) may keep seed exchange catalogs. They may also host events for seed exchanges among groups. Search online for seed libraries and seed exchanges near you to locate opportunities for finding free and interesting seeds to include in your garden this year.
Beat me to it! I just had a meeting this morning with our library director about who’s going to be helping with our annual seed swap and seed library refresh (happening this Saturday and I’m stoked)
Also, check the latest USDA zone map if you haven’t in a bit. Planting based on the climate a decade ago can be dicey. The good news is, more variety!
Also, if you have saved more seed than you need yourself, put it into your local seed libraries now.
