Paris is sending nearly a dozen warships to the Mediterranean and Red Sea and is considering a naval escort mission in the Strait of Hormuz, President Emmanuel Macron said.
Defending an aggressor from counterattacks isn’t self-defence. An Italian air defense battalion participating in Operation Barbarossa could not be said to be acting in self-defence despite the nature of its armaments.
Not quite sure Cyprus is quite the aggressor you’re making it seem, the base wasn’t used to attack Iran and Europe has stayed out of the war only acting in a self defence position
I’m also not sure if your idea of Cyprus being an aggressor is even shared by the IRGC themselves
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said Saturday that Tehran will stop attacking neighboring countries unless attacks on Iran originate from those territories
In a televised address on state television, Pezeshkian apologized to countries in the region that had been struck during the conflict.
I don’t know about Iran, but I consider the UK to be an aggressor.
Why? They didn’t even help the US out during the initial attack much to the Americans disappointment 😁
It was only after Iran started randomly bombing oil refineries in saudi arabia, airports and hotels in dubai etc that the UK got involved
Anyway, there’s also a good chance it was a false flag attack by israel to try to draw more belligerents into the war
Entirely possible but from what I can see the islamic regime in Iran is just as incompetent as it looks
They tried to strike back at Israel last year and had little success, now they’re targeting the smaller weaker neighbours to try and bully them into begging the US to give up
On top of this, just like Russias invasion of Ukraine gave NATO a nice promotional boost, Im not sure Irans bombing of random other countries is doing anything but strengthening the argument for US bases in these countries for protection knowing they’d be exposed without them
The IRGC is highly skilled at raping and murdering and torturing its own citizens, but outside of iran Im just not seeing anything other than pakistani style funding of islamic state terrorists (hezbollah/hamas) and the occasional drone
we’ll have to see in a month if the straight of hormuz is still causing issues

It was a British base in Cyprus, not a Cypriot target. I don’t know about Iran, but I consider the UK to be an aggressor.

I think in general your view of the war situation is delusional. Agreed on coming back to this in a month.
