    Is it sort of like the reverse of the triple parentheses? In a vacuum, I have a hard time getting worked up about the term “goy”. It seems like it belongs in the pantheon of words like “cracker” or “gringo”

      I mean technically there’s nothing wrong with using it. In modern Hebrew and Yiddish it simply means “non Jew.” The thing is, for a while, the overwhelming majority of people using it online outside of Jewish communities were 4chan pol types, so it was kind of suspect to see it.

      The stormfront/pol crowd sees the word in the same way transphobes see the word “cis” in that it was some kind of slur Jews were referring to gentiles as, when in fact the word is simply neutral and is only a pejorative in context
